As per Hawaii Governor Josh Green, these wildfires, resulting in the loss of at least 96 innocent lives and prompting over 11,000 evacuations, are “the largest natural disaster in Hawaii state history.” The estimated damages amount to billions, highlighting the massive scale of recovery efforts required.

Jeff Hickman, spokesperson for Hawaii’s Department of Defense, stresses the significance of monetary contributions at this juncture. With shelters overloaded and an outpouring of physical donations, what Maui truly needs now is financial support.
